YMCA Summer Institute

8th Graders:  The YMCA Summer Youth Institute Is Calling YOU!

Are you headed for 9th grade?  How about going camping this summer, making new friends, and having a blast, all while getting paid for doing it?

No kidding, that is actually possible with the North Long Beach YMCA 2017 Summer Youth Institute.  But you must apply no later than Thursday.

The Youth Institute is a seven-week summer program that begins with a five-day wilderness experience at YMCA Camp High Sierra at Mammoth Lakes, running from June 19th to 23rd.

Skills and Leadership Training

Then, starting June 26th, the program continues, 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, until August 5th.

You will learn new skills and discover yourself through activities like film-making, photography, music production, 3D printing & product design, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding,

About the pay:  On graduation from the seven-week summer program, participants each receive a $300 stipend.

Graduates are also invited to work with the Year-round Youth Institute program, which sponsors various community service and service learning projects in our community.

Don't Delay!  Submit Your Application

Time is short!  and competition for this will be intense.  And don't forget, you must submit your completed application to the Y's main office no later than this coming Thursday, June 8th.
