Hamilton Runners Qualify, Place Proudly in Cross Country Meet

The 10th Annual Long Beach Unified School DIstrict Cross Country Meet took place last Friday, May 29 at Heartwell Park. Seven Hamilton students participated, and five of them qualified for team competition, for the first time.
In the 2-mile race, students must run against the same grade level and the same gender. Five 8th grade girls and two 8th grade boys trained and ran for Hamilton, for a total of seven.
On the hardy Hamilton crew were Jennifer Cardenas, Ruby Tlacatelpa, Crystal Martinez, Stephanie Aguilon, America Calvario, Roberto Andrade, and Christian Fray.
A team must have 5 participants in the same grade level and gender to qualify. Our five 8th grade girls did qualify, and placed 6th in the Girls 8th grade division.
Congratulations to all the participants! We are very proud of our Wolverine athletes!
